Landstar Tops Forbes' List of Best Big Companies in Transportation; Selected to List of 400 Best Big Companies for Sixth Consecutive Year

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Landstar System, Inc. , a safety-first non-asset-based provider of transportation capacity, made Forbes magazine's Platinum 400 List of the Best Big Companies in America, for the sixth consecutive year.

Landstar is listed third out of Forbes' ten best performing stocks on their Platinum List for 2004 and 15th in the ranking of all 400 companies according to 5-year total return percentage. According to Forbes, "In the last 12 months, the Best Big Companies in America, the Forbes Platinum 400, outperformed the S&P 500 by an average of five points."
